Maia Margareta Hellman

Maia (b. 2000) is a multi-media maker based in Tallinn. She works with harvested clay, rusted iron, blown glass and discarded objects. The most exciting part of her practice is when materials begin to show their vulnerabilities: when time and use start working on them, and the uncontrolled takes place. In those moments she can step back and share the responsibility for the work with the material itself, which keeps her humble.
